Who we are

As hosts of our country home we take pleasure and care in meeting the tastes and needs of our clients by offering the typical cuisine of the Apulia region. Our fresh local produce arrives on a daily basis from the "Morello" farm to create our most popular dishes, such as eggplant parmesan, vegetable flans, succulent old-fashioned recipes using fresh zucchini, peppers and eggplant, thick "focaccia" bread, and the classic regional "panzerotti" (small pockets of fried or oven-baked dough filled with tomato and mozzarella, meat or onion), as well as a variety of delicious desserts that adorn the breakfast buffet and complete the dinner menus, all prepared under the pergola adjacent to the dining room.

During their stay our guests can enjoy reading or just relaxing in a large garden composed of independent areas:
A small pine forest adjacent to a centuries' old threshing floor enclosed in lush greenery;
A courtyard where guests can hold their own picnics.
Two outdoor swimming pools (for adults and children, respectively), built entirely in stone, feature relaxing whirlpools and delightful, refreshing waterfalls where guests can enjoy the therapeutic whirling waters and tonic message of the falls (the adult pool is 120 cm to 170 cm deep/4 feet to 5.5 feet deep, while the children's pool is 50 cm/1.6 feet deep). Surrounding the pool area is a lush green lawn equipped with lounge chairs offering a relaxing and cool ambiance among the olive trees.

The country home is nestled in a countryside where guests can take leisurely long walks, visit the ancient little church of St. Catherine, the lake of St. Vitus, and rent bicycles to explore the area in search of old manor farms, lakes, small ancient rupestrian (cave) churches, as well as other local attractions. Cooking lessons are offered to those who wish to learn how to prepare some of the hostess' most typical regional dishes.

What to see
Conversano: this town is an historic "città d'arte" (city of art and culture). It was first inhabited in the Paleolithic Age and given the name "Norba". Owing to its archeological wealth it represents one of the most important and ancient centers of the Peucetii civilization.
Polignano a Mare: at a distance of 10 km (6 miles) from the country home this popular locality, with the old city at its center, is set upon the famous enchanting cliffs overlooking an emerald sea. Not far from Polignano are the beaches of Monopoli and Torre Canne, as well as the safari zoo of Fasano which offers rides, refreshments and drive-through visits of animals freely roaming their natural habitats.
Ostuni: this delightful hill-top town enclosed in fortified perimeter walls and facing the intense blue Adriatic Sea is a township in the province of Brindisi. A particular feature of Ostuni are the white-washed walls of its buildings from which it took the name of "White City".
Alberobello: set in the Itria Valley and a 20-km (12-mile) ride from the country home, this locality is famous worldwide for its unique cone-shaped dwellings called Trulli. In 1996, it was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. A "must" for every visitor of Apulia.
The caves of Castellana: these breathtaking caves and cavities of carsic origin were discovered in 1938 by Franco Anelli and Vito Matarrese. They became the main tourist attraction of the area and are located only 8 km (5 miles) from the country home.
Putignano: a small town in the Apulia region famous for its annual "Carnival", caves, Trulli and bridal fashion..
Matera: an ancient town of Apulia, whose dwellings are for the most part hewn out of tuff rock known as "Sassi", is definitely worth a visit (70 km/43.5 miles from the country home).
Castel del Monte: This mysterious and breathtaking medieval castle (70 km away) was commissioned in the first half of 1200 by Frederick II of Swabia, Roman Emperor and King of Sicily and Apulia, to serve as a manor house and hunting lodge. The castle is built with eight octagonal towers and sits on top of a hill overlooking the Apulian Murgia territory.
Lecce: An elegant Boroque-style city located 100 km (62 miles) from the country home.
